Procol Harum top of the
bill at the Ledreborg-concerts
Musical nostalgia and
symphonic harmony will go hand-in-hand when Ledreborg Castle
this year again becomes the setting for a series of famous and
high-level concerts.
On August 19 and 20, the
English band Procol Harum heads the bill. Together with the
Danish Radio promenade orchestra and the musical gentlemen Poul
Dissing & Benny Andersen, they will entertain in top-class style
on a pair of hopefully warm late-summer days. Procol Harum, led
by pianist and singer Gary Brooker, went to fame in the 60s with
songs like Whiter Shade of Pale and Salty Dog.
The band's last visit to
Denmark was last year. Procol Harum is used to playing with a
big orchestral backing. Already in 1971 they played with
Canada's Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. And the band still has big
loyal following in Denmark, the 'Procoholics'.
Dissing & Andersen will
need no further introduction and together they will entertain
the huge crowd with excerpts from Svantes Viser [their
very famous CD]
