The splendid arena of Domus Felix in Lejre,
Denmark, where 'Beyond the Pale' (helped by its local representatives!)
organised two nights
of parties at which fans convived with Procol Harum after their performance with
orchestra and choir at Ledreborg Castle.
Various amateur musicians listen in the foreground, waiting their turn on the
stand to rehearse with The Palers' Band.
Visible on stage are Richard Beck (bass) and Jeremy Gilien (Hammond C3)
Two of the Norwegian members of the Palers' Band – Jens Anders Ravnaas (left) and Bjørn Jensen
Bjørn's bass guitar is arguably the very best that The Palers' Band has ever used
We can't now recall why Bjørn is playing on his own ...
The above Norwegians are joined by Søren
Borello on piano, Gary Shepard and
Jonas Söderström on guitars
The same five men – natives of Denmark, America Norway, Norway and Sweden – from a different angle
In the foreground, the alternative drum set; both the kits were
brought by van from Norway by Andrè, our photographer.
The backline was hired by 'Beyond the Pale' from local suppliers and was looked
after by Thomas Raa Olsen
Aerial close-up of the British-influenced drumkit (and associated mixer), with BtP Webmaster Jens Anders Ravnaas at the helm
A walkway spanning the rehearsal space allowed Andrè to capture these unusually-angled shots
Søren, Gary, Jens,
Bjørn, Jeremy and Jonas – this is early in our week's rehearsals, judging by the very neat state of the stage
