Thanks to Carlo Ponissi in Italy who sent in (September 2011) this recently-discovered stage plan from Procol Harum's Roman show in 2003, one of three Italian gigs they played in the July of their long tour promoting The Well's on Fire.
Perhaps this document was drawn up by the band's Italian promoter – probably not, in view of certain eccentricities, by their own management. Gear-heads will be interested to see which vocal and drum mics Procol employed; which instruments (and vocal) are compressed or gated; how the guitar cabinet is mic'd and DI'd; how Gary has two separate mixes in his two floor monitors; how Matthew Fisher was using the VK7 (Shadowboxed in particular featured the xylophonic sound from that keyboard); and the drum layout, with its two snares and (supposedly) three hats – no surprise that those superfluous items have been deleted from the channel and monitor lists!
