Daniel Crommie writes: this show was so amazing, and I never knew that Gary Brooker could be SO FUNNY! My sides were aching by half-time. Every song had a quip or at least a hilarious aside. Props were well-conceived; a G.W. Bush doll for the intro to Blink of an Eye and the seagull toy with authentic call for the intros to Whaling Stories and A Salty Dog were well received. The crowd in Portland was more than appreciative – they went nuts after almost every song.

An in-store appearance at a Procol-fan-packed record store must have
really helped the band's morale as this show was far superior to the next
night's performance in Seattle. The Seattle show was musically wonderful, but there was a kind of business-like feel to the proceedings which was quite counter to the home-like feel of the Portland show. Bless them!
