Roland says: the band were not particularly happy with the sound onstage, but they sounded great on the field. At the front the response was excellent with progressive conversion of unbelievers readily apparent. Little patter from Gary but much fun with hand-props ... clutching a toy seagull at the end of ASD, showering playing-cards during AWSoP (many of these came back for signing in the 90-minute autograph queue the following day). I did mean to make my way to the back, never having seen PH over the heads of 15,000 people. But in the end I stayed put with other hard-core fans at the front ... which gave the unusual opportunity of dancing with the composer's wife during Repent Walpurgis ... |
