Tonight we dine just across the street ...

Andrea Ciccioriccio meets the band

Proud father Stefano Ciccioriccio writes to BtP (December 2002):

During the Procol concert in Milan, song number nine was Grand Hotel; and Gary, in singing it, changed the starting words of the second verse from "Tonight we dine at Hotel Ritz" to "Tonight we dine just across the street".

Well, your "One more toast" correspondent Andrea can confirm this! (Andrea is pictured in BtP's 'One More Toast' teeshirt, which he got signed by Procol Harum in Croydon in May 2002. Other Palers may remember The Commander's remark to young Andrea as he inscribed the garment: "Your mother must be extraordinarily beautiful ...")

In fact Andrea is pictured together with Gary just outside Ristorante Pizzeria del Teatro, and likewise with Matthew (just in case Palers wish to share this experience you can see the address ... Piazza Venticinque Aprile ... at the top of the picture.)

The same correspondent can guarantee also that the band survived the dinner: look at the other three pictures taken with Geoff, Mark and Matt after the gig, at the exit from the Teatro Smeraldo.

All survived the dinner, and the marvellous concert, too. Your correspondent was in fact complimented with a signed poster of the gig, and appointed as the youngest Procol Harum fan by Matt Pegg (mind you we are not sure what Gummo would say about that!)
