What was new at 'Beyond the Pale'

December 2001

December 31:
This year's puzzles take you to the back-pages of BtP, to look for clues hidden behind pictures or banners; you can join in at any time you like. Each day we send you to Procol items uploaded on a particular date in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, or 2001 : so you have at most five places to start your daily search for the clues.

Added our seventh puzzle in the 'By the Light of Thirteen Candles' sequence: if you look at this helpful page-index, you'll see links for July 1998, July 1999, and so on. Follow those links and look at July 13th for each of the available years. Sundry new items were added to BtP on those dates, and one of them contains tonight's puzzle question. Just click on the pictures or banners on the relevant pages until you find the question … and make a note of the answer … elementary, really !

Don't forget to have a look at the Thirteen Fab Prizes and decide the order in which you desire them!

Added some initial comments (and details of the CD prize-winner) to our page about the excellent Third Procol Broadcast Marathon (thanks, DJ No 6)

Since 'BtP' started in 1997 we have followed the Scandinavian tradition of setting a little sequence of puzzles for the festive season … today, we’ve added a prelude page about this year's puzzles, entitled 'By the Light of Thirteen Candles', and a schedule of our thirteen excellent Procol prizes.

Have a look at these and decide which one you most desire … if you follow the thirteen puzzles daily starting on Christmas Day (they'll be nice and simple!) there's a good chance we'll be posting you the item of your choice shortly after Twelfth Night, when the puzzles end and normal BtP service is resumed.
