Procol Harum - Live in Copenhagen

Special Edition  : DVD8051X

A paler shade of Denmark

If last year’s Live at the Union Chapel whetted your homburg, you may want to try this 2001 show from Copenhagen.

The sound is excellent, and the band keep themselves alert with some lesser-known songs between the classics, but the atmosphere is clinical, mainly due to the respectful Danish audience who don’t get warmed up until near the end.

In fact there’s more spark in the bonus footage of Procol in rehearsal in their own studio, where they’re relaxed but lively as they jam on standards like Morning Dew and Let’s [sic] Get Stoned.

There’s even a brief glimpse of the reclusive Keith Reid, the man who not only tripped the light fandango but wrote it.

Thanks, Jill, for the typing
