Gary, skipping some kind of fandango! From the same source as the next picture |
From an issue of Crawdaddy
magazine (August1971) featuring the '... clever
Messrs Reid and Brooker.' It shows the two in atypical posturing, generally having a good time and making sport. Of course they address some serious issues as well. |
Matthew Fisher: seen here in a 1973 interview photo while promoting Journey's End in an English paper. He spoke about the tracks and made mention of the concept of commerciality. He stated that if something is commercial that it can still be good. His dislike of 'progressive' music was apparent even then in comments where he called lot of the music of that time 'self- indulgent twiddles.' |
This Mexican EP 45 was
released in 1969 and features AWSoP (Una Palida
Sombra) Conquistador (El Conquistador) Garden
Fence (Caminando A Traves Del Jardin) and good
old Mabel (Mabel). The disc was on the
actual DERAM label but was released by Peerless Records
as EPP1099B. Marcelo Pereira adds: Una Pálida Sombra means 'A Pale Shadow'. Could be close to 'A Pale Shade' too. It must said that the exact translation of A Whiter Shade of Pale would sound too complex and odd in Spanish. |
The not-often-seen Procol
Harum coat of arms. This was available on the back cover
of the sheet music to Homburg. This is the original colour of the picture, which we have not retouched. It perfectly depicts the air of mystery which surrounded Procol Harum in those halcyon days. |
As I listened to Into the Flood today, I could not but sorely miss the otherworldly off-timings I was hearing in my mind's ear. Here's Barrie in 1969 at the Fillmore East from Crawdaddy Magazine. |
1971: beloved BJ, Gary and Keith from the cover of the Dutch 3/4 laminated gatefold album cover of Procol Harum: Portrait on EMI-Stateside Records. |
