A CD recorded by PH fans
!
A project from The
Whalers
When the newsletter from the Whalers
arrived recently, we noticed that it mentioned the intriguing
project of a CD recorded by Procol Harum fans!
'Beyond the Pale' asked Mirek
Plodzik, one of its prime movers, if this were a project only
for the inner circle of The Whalers. Mirek replied,
- No, the project comprises all
Procolers! It seemed that what Michael Ackermann was
saying about production of this CD meant only the Whalers.
I think it would be better that all fans of Procol (not
only Whalers) could take their part in production of the
CD.
- This enterprise should be provided
under sign-board of The Whalers, because Charly Troksa
from Hamburg, probably and Hermann Braunschmidt, will be
our producers.
- The idea is simple: if we will find
some fans who make music and are interested in this
project, we produce CD! Charly asked me whether I would
like to co-ordinate our activity, although I am not
musician. I said: OK! My contribution to this project is
idea about production double CD.
- The first of them includes original
songs of our fans, the second, an interpretation of
Procol Harum's songs. For example: Charly can record an
instrumental version of Too Much Between Us and
Hans Peter Nagler from Switzerland [a professional
musician] has already recorded Conquistador and In
Held 'Twas In I with an orchestra of his pupils aged
between 9 and 16!
- If 'Beyond the Pale' can help us we
will be grateful much. I do hope there are many fans who
would like to record their own song (plus an
interpretations of any Procol's work) and send it on DAT-tape
to Charly or me. I know a few people who can join us in
order to make real production this double-CD (or single
CD in case the fan-musicians won't record an
interpretation of a PH's song).
- I have showed you outline of our
project. Our plans were rather all a bit of an enigma but
I don't see any reasons that other fans can't record
their own songs for this sampler-CD. I hope I didn't
entangle this matter so much and the mission will be
successful. We are waiting for your works!
