Procol Harum fans at large

November 2007, New York, NY, USA

Alan Garmonsway writes to BtP (14 November 2007)

Just thought I’d report the latest UK/US Palers mini-jam in New York last Saturday night, kindly hosted by Don Milione, complete with his extensive keyboard collection – too numerous to mention – and also featuring Ken Stasion, with his Rickenbacker and Ovation guitar selection. Drinks dispensed and support provided by Cindy, Sue and Alison.

Procol Harum songs included a number of favourites from A Salty Dog to Pilgrim’s Progress, despite Don insisting on playing in keys where I needed additional support to reach the high notes (ie Ken, not a surgical truss, although that would have been useful as well)!

In addition, songs from James Taylor, Joe Cocker and others featured, as well as Don and Ken’s noble attempts at jamming to one of Garmonsway’s new blues – Independence Day Blues.

A big ‘thank you’ to Don and Cindy for hosting the event. Needless to say, a good time was had by all ... see below

A glimpse of Don's myriad keyboards, and Ken as well (right)
