1979: The Concerts for Kampuchea


Miguel Terol kindly alerted us - and all PH completists - to this album, and provided all the information and the picture

Paul McCartney and Wings held a benefit concert to raise funds for the people of Kampuchea, on 26, 27, 28 and 29 December 1979, at London's Hammersmith Odeon.

The Live LP is called Concerts For The People Of Kampuchea (1981, Atlantic), and it comprises tracks from The Who (who played for three hours!), The Pretenders, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Rockpile (with Robert Plant), Queen, The Clash, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, The Specials, Paul McCartney & Wings (three tracks), and the final feast, three tracks from Rockestra:
