Paramounts on the rooftop

Pam has collected the autographs of her brother's three band-mates on this picture, though they are now exceptionally faded.

Gary Brooker has signed over the modern building to his apparent left; Diz Derrick above that, level with the top of his head; and 'Rob Trower' is slantingly written in the sky above that.

To judge from the pale right-hand margin, this picture was once stuck in a mirror or picture-frame, where the light gradually yellowed it and bleached the autographs.

Note the mixture of old housing and sixties developments in the background.

This photo, and many more, may be found in the Glossy Redhill Souvenir (RC)

A very well-known photo, as the same shot was used in the insert of the Whiter Shades Of R&B LP (Edsel ED 112, 1983) and part of the same photo was used in the ads for the Little Bitty Pretty One single (eg. NME, 6 March1964).

It is said that this roof shot was taken on the top of the EMI building in London (November 1963) (thanks, Frans Steensma: more from Frans here)
