A signed, numbered CD of AWSoP
Sold for the benefit of the BJ Wilson Memorial Fund
This limited edition of 67 signed CDs was snapped up when they were originally offered for sale.
One has now come back on the market five years later ... and is for sale at eBay (ends 9 October 2005)
Brooker has made available to Palers, from his 'vault', a
strictly-limited edition of promo CD singles of A
Whiter Shade of Pale.
This is the original classic version that came out in 1967.
Accordingly there were 67 copies, signed by the composers and individually numbered.
Our illustration shows CD number 30 … the edition-number is near the word 'Pale'.
Needless to say it all looked a lot clearer in the flesh than it does on the scan.
By buying one of these very rare CDs Palers contributed directly to the BJ Wilson Memorial Fund: all proceeds, except postage and credit-card commission, went directly to that cause.
This fund aims, among other things, to keep flowers on the great percussionist's grave.
The original asking price was USD 42 + postage, but many purchasers sent a lot more money in recognition of the value of the item, and the worthiness of the cause. All sale-money (except fees for credit-card processing and postage) went directly to Gary's BJ Wilson Memorial Fund … Gary thanks Palers here for their efforts.
