Procol Harum (1) in Winterthur, Switzerland

Eulachhalle, Saturday 30 September 1972

Hermann Braunschmidt kindly sends these images to BtP. They are scans of a black and white negative film given to him by Andrea Rascher,
and the pictures are copyright Ruedi Baumann, who writes for the Tages Anzeiger in Zurich, Switzerland.
Fascinating to compare these with photos from the same concert already to be found at BtP

This set of photographs is unusual in the (welcome) prominence it affords to the band's trusty bassist, Alan Cartwright ...

... and its (less welcome) paucity of shots of Prof Copping ... this is the only coverage of this crucial Procoler, and of his Hammond interiorities

Barrie Wilson on drums, of course!

The boys' choir, behind the orchestra. The youth who's brought the wrong score
is having to share, and look down: not so good for voice-production

Faint, but clear: the orchestra, and a bottle

On guitar, in the constellation-trousers, Mick Grabham

Gary Brooker at the piano, anchors akimbo

A touch of damage to this negative ... but a revealing shot of Fender and Kelly amps and monitors

Low-angle shot of the Commander. Above him, the kind of light-fitting that is a gift to fakers of UFO photographs
