Procol Harum always get an excellent reception in Switzerland

Is it possible that the audience knows of the marital connection?

That Gary Brooker has been married, since 1968, to a Swiss girl?

Maybe it's because he takes the trouble to address the crowd in French

It can scarcely be thanks to his non-PC attempts to sing in German ... 'der Nacht ein schlafen Hotel Grand ...'

Maybe it's just because the band is so astonishingly good

Although that principle doesn't seem to hold in all territories (UK take note)

Or maybe there is an immense clump of Whitehorn fans in the Alps somewhere.
That would not be surprising
