Dave Bronze, bass and vocal | Paul Beavis, drums
Ashley Dow, ukulele, Hawaiian guitar | Debbie Dow, harmonica,
percussion
Following another great blues set by Rag Mama Rag (Ashley Dow, voice and guitar, Resonator guitar, Hawaiian guitar, and bass 'drum' in the form of an internally-amplified flight-case played with a standard kick pedal (see here); Debbie Dow, voice, washboard, spoons, tambourine and excellent harmonicas) Gary Brooker and his all-star band took the stage at 10.04 pm for a second 'soiree of blues and rock', in the words of presenter Mike Gardiner (the DJ who presents a weekly show of British Rock on 'Antenne d'Oc'). Photography, filming and recording during the performance were again quite firmly prevented by the venue -- a modern, seated auditorium holding about 400, with great lights and sound, packed out for a second night wrong. Luckily pencil and notebook were again permitted. [There's a couple of pages of snaps taken before the show, during the encores, and at the after-show party, here] |

Another great evening, with atmosphere again not unlike the Brookers' Christmas shows at Chiddingfold Club (albeit seated, not standing in a crowd) in the old days. Band in excellent spirits afterwards, and many thanks to Franky for the chilli. Below, the handwritten setlist for the evening (thanks, Gary) showing the tempo (Medium, Fast and Slow), the key, and the singer(s).
