Procol Harum fans in Wuppertal, 6 April 2013

The End of the Evening • Official photography by Andre Scollick (1)

The BtP team joined on stage by Michael Ackermann from Whaling Stories – local knowledge and tireless help
is absolutely indispensable when organising a party on this scale

The audience gathers under Live Club Barmen's impressive ducting

Bringing Home the Bacon with a new Pahene Ensemble on three treble recorders: Linda Clare, Dave Ball, Ian Hockley.
Gary Shepard and Little Beth Pellegrino, lead guitars; Roland from BtP on bass, and Poul Achton on bongos

The Man in the Hat observes from afar, initially

Geoff Whitehorn in the audience ... the rest of Procol Harum are mingling elsewhere

Chris Cooke, Procol's manager, has a word with Roland mid-All This and More

Maestro Whitehorn captures the singing of One-Eye with his one-iPhone

Gary Brooker sings Hear What You're Saying ... the live premiere of this great solo song

The Man in the Hat again, from the front this time

Quite a lot of cameras and clapping

Frau Ursula Heck, dancer

View from the mixing desk ... Procol's Geoff Dunn in the frame

Gary Brooker singing Saw the Fire with the Palers' Band

Post-song hilarity from The Commander

By now it's 7 April: Gary assists in the birthday presentations to Michael (also assisted by Isolde)

Dave Ball (crash cymbals) concludes the planned part of the evening, the rest of his Palers' Band cohorts being on stage for TV Ceasar / Rule Britannia
Dave would ideally have done his crashing onstage, but headroom did not allow

Entirely unexpectedly Geoff Whitehorn plugs in and closes the evening with a rousing account of Repent Walpurgis
