Procol Harum arriving Kjevik airport in Kristiansand, Norway

On 26 May 2001, Procol Harum played the second gig of their European tour in webmaster Jens's hometown, Kristiansand, Norway
These photos were taken by Jens Kvarstein, responsible for transporting the band from the airport.

A fleet of classic Mercedes cars waiting for a classic band to arrive. The flight was delayed

The cars are owned by Jens Kvarstein, cousin of BtP webmaster Jens. Among the drivers you can also see his sister Inger and his brother Odd Gunnar (standing with his back to the camera). Both Jens and Inger had previously seen the band and met Gary Brooker at the Guildford Millennium Concert.

In yellow you can also see Paler Jonas Söderström, whose aeroplane happened to arrive
just a few minutes before Procol Harum's.

What's so funny? Band members and crew (Ron and Wee Pete) enjoying themselves while waiting for all the equipment to clear customs.

Leaving the airport, destination Quality Kristiansand hotel: here the Palers' Band was eagerly rehearsing,
and the
Palers' Party would take place a few hours later.

In particular Mark Brzezicki seemed to enjoy the classic car fleet. Being a car collector himself, he and car-owner Jens had some interesting talk between them. They decided to see a classic car exhibition situated just outside the hotel, but were later disappointed to find that it was closed for the season.
