Gary Brooker Ensemble, Guildford Cathedral

BtP's soundcheck pictures (2)

Backs of the band from the vantage of the monitor mixer, stage left

Downtime for Andy, Matt and Graham: very top of the picture, you can see some organ pipes

The full 'stage picture'; the lighting bar forms a kind of Rood Screen; the video screen takes the place of the centre of an altar triptych. Note the PA stacks in front of each pillar.

Almost all the seats visible here were to be occupied by Palers at the time of the concert.

Adjustment of the orchestra's microphones: at this stage stands and lights are not yet ready.

The video team were waiting for the sun to go down so they could assess how bright the screen would look. In the event it all worked very well

Arguably there would have been quite a void behind the Ensemble, without that screen, which hangs west of the choir stalls

Gary at the piano: not, of course, the same side that he plays in a Procol Harum context

Andy Fairweather Low with his Strat, played on only one number: otherwise he was acoustic only
