Of course this was The Palers' Band, not the real thing, but the gig did nonetheless serve to introduce, or remind, the habitual BB King Sunday-night drinkers of some great songs of Brooker / Fisher / Trower / Reid. Just imagine, though, if the real band could somehow be encouraged to play an eclectic set like this ...
Kaleidoscope
Toujours L'Amour
Conquistador
A Rum Tale
All This and More
Juicy John Pink (Procol Harum themselves played this song from
the same stage, on the same gear, next evening)
Fool's Gold
Wreck of the Hesperus
Separation
So Far Behind
Goin' Down Slow (Lloyd Edward on guitar)
Nothing But the Truth
Intermission ... then a short blues and boogie
set from the Anglo-American trio, Apeneck (Lloyd Edward, guitar; Roland Clare,
bass, Gary Griswold, drums): Goats and Monkeys, Lucky in Love,
Let Me Love You, Remember Me, Ain't Got No Money, Sweet
Little Angel, 29 Ways. These aren't included in the setlist-analysis
below.
A Whiter Shade of Pale
Wish Me Well
One Eye on the Future
The Milk of Human Kindness
She Knows Me
A Salty Dog
Beyond the Pale
Whaling Stories
