Procol Harum at Milton Keynes

Roland's photographs from 16 March 2003

The Stables, home to Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth, is an intimate venue, seating just 396

It was absolutely packed ... can you see yourself there?

Some seats lay to the side of the band, giving an usual view

The band had practised backing vocals during the soundcheck

The side seats gave an excellent view of Matthew's organ-playing

and the Commander was usually masked by Geoff

Light levels were quite low ... and cameras were not permitted!

The sound was excellent, perhaps a tad quieter than Lewisham the night before

Nice to get a clear view of Mark's unusual cymbal layout

Applause for the band at the end ... or is one patron praying?

High spirits in response to an excellent ovation
