'The Story about a Shirt'

Pictures from the camera of Martin Awsop

This is the story of Martin Awsop, Procol Harum fan extraordinaire, who came from Barcelona to Croydon to hear the band play a concert

He went to the Palers' Fair where he met two suspicious-looking men who were selling commemorative tee-shirts, in a limited edition, designed by the one with the hat.
Martin bought one, put it on, then asked an organist to sign it.

The organist looked in surprise at the surname, 'Awsop' … he thought it rang a bell.

Next up, Martin got a passing drummer to sign the shirt.

Other fans looked on in surprise …

Then a guitarist signed it as well.

The whole band had already signed an empty shirt, a few weeks before, to serve as a raffle-prize … but it's much easier to write neatly on a tee-shirt that has a human being inside it.

When a bass-player came up and signed it, the shirt was almost complete!
… and when a singer / pianist (wearing a very similar garment himself) added his own name, that was the icing on the cake!

No need for Martin to worry now who will win the raffle … unless, of course, he wins it himself … and all that effort will have been wasted!
